Philadelphia Music Legends Return To Ardmore Music Hall

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Local music fans are in for a treat Saturday night when 'In the Pocket,' a review featuring some the area's most celebrated musicians, pays tribute to the Soul Survivors, who perform the vocals on a new cover of a Philly Soul classic.

TJ Tindall played on a slew of Sound of Philadelphia hits, including an O'Jays hit, Backstabbers. Hooters drummer and In the Pocket impresario David Uosikkinen had booked Tindall to help record a cover of Backstabbers. But Tindall died the week before the session. Uosikkinen says it was an emotional day.

"Anita, TJ's wife came to the session, brought his guitar," Uosikkinen said. "It was a really moving day. I think he might've been in the room with us a little bit when we were cutting that."

Uosikkinen says although Tindall is sorely missed, the show on the 16th at the Ardmore Music Hall will be a celebration.

"We've got a great lineup this time. The legendary Kenny Kweder's gonna be with us, Eric Bazilian's gonna come and join us, Ben Arnold's gonna be there. Richie and Charlie of course from the Soul Survivors, Richard Bush, who's always amazing. Tommy Conwell, who lays it out. It's a really good band, about 20 guys onstage."
