School Officials Release Statement After Photo of Students Playing 'Jews vs. Nazis' Drinking Game Goes Viral

By Cleve Bryan

PRINCETON, NJ (CBS) -– 17-year-old Jamaica Ponder isn't afraid to call out her peers when she knows they're wrong.

This week she posted a photo on her blog of classmates at Princeton High School playing a "Nazis vs Jews" version of beer bong – where one side lines up cups in the shape of a swastika and the other the Star of David.

Her Jewish friend showed her the picture on Snapchat after she was hushed at the party two weekends ago.

"She was horrified and very upset as soon as they started setting it up and refused her pleas for them to stop, so she called her friends and left," says Ponder.

The photo is now viral causing shock and embarrassment with both parents and students.

"I'm absolutely offended and I don't think it has to do with being Jewish, I think that everybody should be offended," says parent Nicole Brietman.

"I think they just thought it was funny, I don't think they were thinking at all really," says high school senior Shahieym Brown.

School superintendent Steve Cochrane released a statement saying in part,

"As a district we will closely examine our efforts to address the root causes of these problems to ensure that Princeton Public Schools remains first and foremost a place of tolerance and caring."

The Princeton Police department says they are investigating who may have provided the minors with beer but are not looking at the situation as a hate crime.
