Bars, Restaurants Serving Up Festive Drinks And Eats During Nova Parade

By Chelsea Lacey-Mabe

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The city of Philadelphia is getting excited about Villanova's championship parade on Friday and several local restaurants are finding ways to get into the spirit.

Italian market Di Bruno Bros. will be offering a special Villanova "Victory Burger" between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at its Rittenhouse Square location. They're looking for patrons to come hungry as the burger is stacked with cheese curds, onion rings, sliced cheddar and crumbled blue cheese.

Keeping with the blue theme, McGillns Olde Ale House on Drury Street will be serving up Nova Blue Beer! Drinks like the Wildcat Crush and Buzzer Beater will also be served alongside their regular Friday pitcher specials.

The American Pub nearby will have $3 domestic bottles, $2 Miller Lite drafts and $5 Nova Bombs from noon until 7 p.m. and across town Paddy Whacks Irish Sports Pub is hosting a post parade party on South Street with $6 Bud Light pitchers, $10 buckets and $3 bottles.

The parade is set to begin at 1 at 20th and Market Street, ending up at Dilworth Park with a wrap by 3 p.m.

The last time Villanova won the NCAA championship was more than 30 years ago back in 1985 so the team and fans alike were definitely hungry (and thirsty) for the big win.
