Police Arrest 21-Year-Old Man For Beating And Robbing A 92-Year-Old Woman

EWING, N.J., (CBS) -- Ewing Township Police have announced an arrest in connection to a home invasion that resulted in a 92-year-old woman being found bound and beaten in her home.

On Thursday, police announced the arrest of Joseph Blanche, a 21-year-old man from Trenton, after authorities say the investigation showed that Blanche was one of two men they believe carried out the home invasion.

According to police, the incident took place on Tuesday morning around 10:18 a.m. on Manor Drive. Police responded to the scene and located the woman who was bound at the time she was found. Authorities searched the home for intruders, but were unable to locate any.

Officials say that sometime over the night, two men ransacked the woman's home and assaulted her causing physical injuries.

Blanche has been charged with 1st degree kidnapping, 1st degree robbery, 2nd degree burglary, 2nd degree aggravated assault, 3rd degree theft, 3rd degree criminal restraint and 3rd degree endangering an injured victim.

Police say that the woman's vehicle was taken during the invasion and police were able to recover it on Wednesday.

Blanche was taken to Mercer County Correctional Center and his bail was set at $2 million.
