Emotional Sendoff As Villanova Heads To Houston

VILLANOVA, Pa. (CBS) -- It was a rousing sendoff for Villanova's basketball team Wednesday afternoon, as the players and coaches left for their Final Four showdown in Houston.

As the team bus pulled away from the Davis Center, alum Erin Hulea of Havertown was among the hundreds of fans cheering.

"They're unbelievable," she said. "They have the most strength of any basketball team out there!"

Head coach Jay Wright said the outpouring of emotion eclipsed his previous Final Four sendoff seven years ago.

"This is incredible. And when I walked outside I remembered it from last time," Wright said. "But I think this is bigger than our sendoff in (2009)."

Wright got choked up when he was asked about his seniors kissing the "V" on the floor after the final home practice of their careers.

"It was something pretty neat," Senior Ryan Archidiancono said of kissing the "V."

Villanova Senior center Daniel Ochefu weighed in on playing in the Final Four. "Feeling great," said Ochefu. "We're just very blessed to be on this trip and to be going to Houston and get work done."
