John Chaney: Villanova Will Be Too Much For Buddy Hield

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- 27, 36, 17, and 37.

Those are Buddy Hield's point totals in his four NCAA Tournament games this season. Next up for the Oklahoma sniper, who is averaging 25.4 points per game and is a popular choice for national player of the year, is the Villanova Wildcats in Saturday's Final Four matchup.

Hall Of Fame and legendary former Temple University basketball John Chaney knows a thing or two about hoop. Now 84-years-old, the former five-time Atlantic-10 coach of the year, says Nova will be too tough for Hield.

"Buddy Hield is the real deal as far as shooting is concerned," Chaney admitted to Glen Macnow and Ike Reese Tuesday on the 94WIP Mike & Ike Show. "He's got step backs, he's got duck-and-under, he has all kinds of shots that he can shoot. But I don't think he can muscle his way out of Villanova. Villanova has all kinds of schemes. They'll slow you down, make you work, like the old pro's would do.

"I think Villanova will beat them."

This year's Final Four is at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas home of the Houston Texans. The stadium has a seating capacity of 71,795 and a total area of 1,900,000 square feet.

Nova's senior big man Daniel Ochefu (6-11, 245) will need to get going early and often for the Wildcats.

"It's so important to start the inside-out game when you're in the Final Four because there's depth perception in those football arenas," Chaney explained. "Man, you look like -- when you dribble the ball -- it looks like you've got miles to go! And you take those shots and missing."
