PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The start of the splashy summer movie season, with all those high-profile releases, is still a month away.

But early spring brings its share of new films as well.

So here's the lineup of major movies opening through April, subject to change but pretty much in the order of their release between now and, say, Mother's Day:

Melissa McCarthy stars as the richest woman in America who emerges from prison after being convicted of insider trading in the wealthy-mogul comedy, The Boss.

Scarlett Johansson, Bill Murray, Idris Elba, Christopher Walken, and Ben Kingsley lend their voices to speaking animals in the family-adventure remake of the Rudyard Kipling classic, The Jungle Book.

Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman, Ryan Reynolds, and Tommy Lee Jones co-star in the action thriller, Criminal.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Naomi Watts team up as a widower investment banker and a struggling customer service rep in the life-rebuilding drama, Demolition.

Room's Jacob Tremblay stars as an orphan whose nightmares physically manifest themselves in the supernatural horror thriller, Before I Wake.

Writer-director Richard Linklater moves from Dazed and Confused's high school to focus on a group of college-freshmen baseball players in the 1980s ensemble comedy-drama, Everybody Wants Some!!

Ice Cube, Cedric the Entertainer, Regina Hall, and Anthony Anderson lead the cast in the hirsute comedy sequel, Barbershop: The Next Cut.

Don Cheadle stars as jazz musician Miles Davis while making his directorial debut in the biographical drama, Miles Ahead.

Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt, and Jessica Chastain co-star in the action-adventure fantasy sequel/prequel to Snow White and the Huntsman, The Huntsman: Winter's War.

Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele – otherwise known as Key & Peele – bring their comedy stylings to the movie screen in a comedy about a stolen kitten named Keanu.

A punk rock band witnesses a murder and find themselves in a vicious fight for survival against murderous, white-supremacist skinheads in the horror thriller, Green Room.

Paul Giamatti and John Goodman lead the voice cast in the animated science fiction comedy based on a video game, Ratchet and Clank.

And Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Jason Sudeikis, and Kate Hudson co-star in the holiday-themed ensemble comedy featuring intersecting stories, Mother's Day.

That should keep us busy. And then, before we know it, we'll be heading into the summer movie season. Enjoy.
