Through New Tech, Montco Dance Studio Allows You To Become Part Of Action

AMBLER, Pa. (CBS) - Some say virtual reality is the next big thing in technology, and a local dance studio is experimenting with a unique way to invite their audience to become part of the action.

If you've ever wondered what it might be like to become part of a boys hip hop class -- Addicted 2 Dance in Ambler is experimenting with virtual reality to give you a peek inside the Ambler studio.

"We tried out this new technology that my awesome marketing guy Sean Rose came up with, and it got a full 360 view: up, down, front, back, side of every dancer in the room including the teacher," explains Aubrey Conley -- studio owner and artistic director.

She says the camera uses two fisheye lenses to capture interactive video from all angles.

"What's so cool about watching it from your phone or on the computer is that you can just swipe, watch your kid, watch the class or zoom in or zoom out."

They are using the video to show parents and future students exactly what it's like to be part of one the classes.

"Anything we can do to attract viewer and customers to come to our studio, to be a part of our family, I will strive to do."
