Phillies Agree To New Contract With Pete Mackanin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Phillies have agreed to a new two-year contract with manager Pete Mackanin, the team announced on Friday. The contract includes a club option for the 2018 season.
Mackanin, 64, led the Phils to a 14-7-2 record in his first Spring Training. The Phillies went 37-51 under Mackanin last season.
Mackanin has worked for the Phillies for six of the last seven seasons. He served as bench coach from 2009-12 before returning as third base coach in 2014 and 2015.
