Gerber Recalls Some Baby Food Pouches Due To Spoilage Concerns
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Gerber is recalling some baby food pouches that may be susceptible to spoilage due to a packaging defect.
Gerber says consumers may notice that in some cases the pouches are bloated, or the product inside may have an off taste or odor.
Pouches of pears, carrots and peas; and pouches of carrots, apples and mangoes with best by dates between July 12-July 14, 2016 are all part of the recall.
President and CEO Gary Tickle says, "Speaking as a father, I understand that giving your little one the best is the most important thing. That's why the quality of our baby foods is our top priority. I sincerely apologize for any concern this may have caused. For more than 90 years we have put babies first in everything we do and you can trust that we will continue to do so."
