Bucks County High School Hosting Mini-THON

By Kim Glovas

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Students from one Bucks County high school are going to get out of school a little early Friday, but it won't be for rest and relaxation.

Archbishop Wood is just one of hundreds of schools dancing to conquer childhood cancer.

"Not only does it help for the cure of cancer, but it actually aids families who have financial needs who can't afford the treatment and the hospital bills," said Wood student Alanna Ellis.

The dancing event kicks off at 2pm and goes until 10pm in the school gym. Students must stay on their feet for 8 hours straight.

Last year, more than $50,000 was raised for children being treated at the Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital.
