Police Look For Man Accused Of Raping A 22-year-Old Woman

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police are asking for the public's help identifying a man accused of raping a 22-year old woman earlier this week.

The victim told police that a man approached her from behind while she was walking on Rhawn Street near Winchester Street around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The man then covered her mouth and forced her into a wooded area where he put duct tape over her mouth, cuffed her wrists to her ankles, and then proceeded to physically and sexually assault her.

The woman describes her attacker as being a heavy-set, black man with a scruffy beard and light brown hair. He appeared to be in his 30's and had a heart tattoo with tribal symbols on his chest. The victim said her attacker was also carrying a blue book bag.

Anyone with information should contact the Philadelphia Police Department's Special Victims Unit at 215-685-3251.
