Jan Brewer: Trump 'Will Protect Us'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Former Arizona Governor Jan Brewer addressed her support for Donald Trump for President, citing his promise to secure the Mexican border and stop illegal immigration.

During an interview with Dom Giordano on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, Brewer said Trump will break through the bureaucracy and end the frustration voters feel with Washington.

"I believe that Donald Trump is a great candidate and he supports securing our border. The public, America, is fed up with our federal government. They have not listened. The will not listen. I think that Donald Trump will go to DC and that he will listen to the people and get the job done. I think he will protect us, make us safe, and that should be our number one priority."

She insisted that residents of her state know, more than most, about the burden of illegal immigration.

"The federal government is not listening. Arizona was bearing the brunt of all this illegal immigration, with the cartel houses, the drop houses, the drugs, the sex trafficking, not to talk about the people that are actually coming across to work because then it costs us education, for incarceration and for healthcare. This list just goes on and on and on. And then the economy, these people are all taking the jobs. It's just devastating. It's just something that's almost totally intolerable."
