LeSean McCoy And Legal Team Meet With D.A.'s Office, Attorney Says 'He Did Nothing Wrong'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- According to sources, LeSean McCoy's attorney's met with the Philadelphia District Attorney's office to discuss an alleged assault involving off-duty police officers earlier this month.

The meeting took place on Tuesday afternoon and McCoy left following the meeting without comment.

Although McCoy did not speak to the media, his attorney did. "He'd love to talk to you," said McCoy's attorney Dennis Cogan. "But, I'm not letting him talk to you because there's an ongoing investigation and you're going to have another question for me, right? But I'm not going to answer any further questions because that's not what we're supposed to do. We don't want to try any of these matters in the press."

The ex-Eagles star running back was allegedly involved in a brawl that took place at Recess nightclub at 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, February 7th. McCoy and three others are accused of assaulting two off-duty police officers.

Last Friday, District Attorney Seth Williams told the 94WIP Morning Show, "There is no timetable other than us getting it right."

Williams' comments came in response to Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police president John McNesby, who told the 94WIP Morning Show that he has seen 4,500 felony arrests and has "never waited this long to see somebody arrested."

There have been no charges filed at this time.

Despite his unwillingness to answer questions, McCoy's attorney made one thing clear:

"The one quote I have on the public record is exactly that. He did nothing wrong, but I'm not going to say anything more about it."
