Morgan Freeman Guides Users To Their Destination In New Gig As 'Waze' Navigator

by Jasmine Payoute

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – There are very few celebrities that have voices that resonate with the masses. The type of voices you hear and you automatically know who it is.

Well Morgan Freeman is definitely one of them.

Waze, a crowd-sourced traffic and navigation app, announced on Monday that Morgan Freeman will be added to the list of its already impressive celebrity navigators. Freeman's voice was one of the most requested, by its more than 50 million users.

The academy award winner's new gig is a promotional gimmick for his latest movie 'London Has Fallen' set to deput in theaters March 4th. On the app, Freeman pretends to be Vice President Trumbull, the role he will be playing in the film.

When a user opens the app, they then select the 'Morgan Freeman' option, which will greet you by saying, "The time has arrived, President Wazer. The world awaits your command."

Imagine heading to work with that in your car.

And when you've arrived at your destination, President Trumbull lets you out your ride in style.

"You've arrived. It's been my honor and duty to see you through this mission."

According to Amber Kirby, Entertainment Partnerships at Waze, the app will be able to direct Freeman fans to nearby theaters showings of 'London Has Fallen', the sequel to 'Olympus Has Fallen'.

Freeman will join the rank of several other celebrity hosts, such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Stephen Colbert.

The Morgan Freeman voice is only available for a limited time, until March 31.

So you may want to get a move on it. As he says in the app,

"The American people are counting on you…to drive. Let's go."

Talk about the ride of a lifetime.
