Police: 2 LSD-Related Arrests At Local University

VILLANOVA, Pa. (CBS) -- Radnor Police say they have arrested a Villanova University student, Justin Yim, charging him with dealing the dangerous, hallucinogenic drug LSD from his dorm room.

Three overdose victims were rushed from campus to a local hospital late Friday night and early Saturday morning. They are now recovering but one police say, has been charged with punching a woman and two Villanova security officers. The drug, police say, often results in delirious, sometimes violent behavior in those who use it.

Police say they found 50 doses of LSD, along with $9,000 cash, other drugs and paraphernalia in Yim's dorm room.

Radnor Township Police Lieutenant Chris Flanagan urged anyone on campus, who may still have LSD to turn it in immediately, no questions asked.

David Tedjeske, Director of Public Safety for the University, emphasizing that while it's the first time he can recall LSD being found on campus, anyone possessing or selling that drug, or any others, risks swift expulsion.

"We are taking this incident very seriously," he stated.

Villanova University also released a statement that reads, in part:

"In addition, the University has instituted an internal review and is moving forward quickly and thoroughly. Those found responsible will be held accountable. Villanova holds all of its students to a high standard and has a deep and continuing commitment to achieving an educational community free of substance abuse."
