Jahlil Okafor Is Borrowing Elton Brand's Land Rover

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- When the Philadelphia 76ers signed 36-year-old power forward Elton Brand, everyone knew it wasn't for on-the-court purposes. The idea, presumably, would be to have Brand around as mentor for the young players -- especially for fellow former Duke Blue Devil Jahlil Okafor, who was recently involved in a few troubling incidents.

Brand seems to embracing the role as Okafor's mentor and some. According to a feature Robert Sanchez of ESPN.com did on Okafor, Brand lent his black Land Rover to the 76ers' No. 3 overall pick.

"He wants me to be smart about my money," Okafor told ESPN.com

The piece focuses on some of the troubles Okafor was dealing with early in the season. Okafor, according to the piece, has lofty goals for himself in year two and hopes to be mentioned among the "elite" NBA players at some point in the near future.
