Wait, Who? Phillies Fans Getting Acquainted With New Faces

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - If you ever saw the movie 'Major League' you have an idea what you might be in for this spring.

When the Phillies open Spring Training in Clearwater next week, there will be a whole lot of new faces reporting for camp.

Most of the starting lineup returns, but after that, you will truly need a scorecard to identify these guys.

From names like Roman Quinn to Peter Bourjos to Daniel Stumpf, many Phillies fans just don't seem to know the players on their own team anymore. And that list goes on.

Gone for good are such familiar names as Utley, Rollins, Lee and Papelbon. Only four players remain from the Phillies 2014 opening day roster.

Fans tell KYW Newsradio it'll take some getting used to:

"It's always sad to lose your favorite players, especially when they've been around like for me, some of them since I was a kid. But hopefully some new prospects will be what the Phillies need and we'll get to know them and love them just as much."

"We need to start studying. Pitchers and catchers report in what, two weeks?"

"Keep the open roster on my phone while I'm watching the game."

The good news is it that a bunch of these newbies may have a chance to be Wall of Famers someday.

MLB.com Pipeline recently released its list of top 100 prospects and seven of them belong to the Phillies.

There's a reason to hope.
