Female Volunteers Take Over At Montco Habitat For Humanity
WEST NORRITON, Pa. (CBS) - Habitat for Humanity in Montgomery County is focusing on women volunteers this week.
"Women Build Week is giving women the opportunity to come and make a difference in someone else's house," says volunteer crew chief Debbie Tevlan.
Chuck Weiss, director of construction at Habitat Montgomery County says this is an annual event:
"And it's all women. A lot of our women volunteers come out and lead the groups and it's a great opportunity for women to come out and build with other women."
Tevlan says it's perfect for the volunteer that may be a little apprehensive about construction work:
"There are a lot of women who don't have a lot of confidence in their building skills and there are a lot of women who have never even held a hammer or used a power tool and this is really just an opportunity for them to get their hands a little dirty."
'Women Build Week' runs through Saturday.
