PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Members of the New York City Police Department traveled to Philadelphia Wednesday to visit police officer Jesse Hartnett, who was shot several times earlier this month.

The NYPD brought a plaque for officer Hartnett, who was released from the hospital on Friday.

In a Facebook post, the Philadelphia Police Department thanked the NYPD for their visit, saying "We are incredibly grateful, and can't thank the NYPD enough for standing by Officer Hartnett as he continues his recovery!"

Officer Hartnett is an 18th district officer with four years on the force.
