Sixers Unveil Construction Update For New State Of The Art Facility

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Trust The Process doesn't simply apply to the players on the court. The Sixers' brass has made it clear that they are looking to build a world-class basketball team and part of that includes building a world-class facility.

On Tuesday, the Sixers offered fans an update on the progress being made at their new state of the art training complex, currently being built in Camden.

The new training complex will be a 125,000 square foot campus that includes the Sixers front office and business operations. The Sixers say the facility will be the largest in the NBA and will feature two NBA regulation courts, a hydrotherapy room, a 2,800 square foot locker room, a private restaurant for the players, a 7,000 square foot roof deck and a 4,000 square foot sign that will be visible from across the river in Philadelphia.

The team also stressed that the building will have 250 employees and will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to serve as a destination for their players to continue to develop their games.

The team is also offering a live camera view of the facility.

Construction of the building is on schedule.

The new training facility will help to strengthen the Sixers' reputation around the league. A state of the art facility will not only make the current players feel more passionate about the organization, it will also give the Sixers a crown jewel to show off to potential free agents as the team prepares to enter an era of growth, as opposed to dismantling.

As the team continues to search for building blocks on the court, it is encouraging to see construction in Camden going smooth.
