GoFundMe Page Setup To Send Mops To Governor Christie

TRENTON, N.J., (CBS) -- "There's been one county that's flooded in the state. One county, that was Cape May County. It's the one county that flooded. So I don't know where, from all over the state, since we have 21 counties where that's happened. Second, I don't know exactly what you expect me to do. You want me to go down there with a mop?

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie uttered the above words on Monday after receiving questions about why he chose to hit the campaign trail in his bid for President, instead of visiting New Jersey towns that dealt with flooding after the weekend's winter storm.

The part that has been repeated since was the question Christie sarcastically asked. "You want me to go down there with a mop?" He has since apologized.

Even if that was a reasonable solution to the shore damage that reminded some residents of what they experienced after Superstorm Sandy, where in the world would Christie get enough mops?

A new GoFundMe campaign may have the answer to that dilemma.

The page, created by Kiyle Osgood of Lambertville, N.J. on Tuesday, is called "Mops For Christie."

"Let's join together by raising funds to Mop up the mess we have in Trenton. Funds will be used to send as many mops as possible to the Governer of New Jersey," the page reads.

The goal for the page is $1000.
