Winter Storm Causing Cancellations Everywhere, Including Funeral Homes

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- What do you do if you have a funeral scheduled when two feet of snow is on the way?

Rescheduled is the word of the day in obituaries. Several funerals have been postponed this weekend because of the snowstorm.

Bill Logan, owner of the Logan Funeral Homes, says there are a lot of details that must be considered old man winter steps in.

"We have to reschedule the grave opening. In this case for the Saturday we had a Marine Corps Veterans League that was planned to attend, they had to be rescheduled, there's a funeral luncheon afterward, that has to be rearranged. The church schedule has to be rearranged."

He says the flowers must be cancelled or repurchased and that can cost the family extra money.

In addition, some of the mourners may be afraid to travel because of the conditions and that can mean fewer people consoling the grieving family.
