Montco Commissioner Gives Update On County's Plan To Deal With Impending Storm

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- Montgomery County Commissioner Josh Shapiro made public the county's plan to deal with the impending weekend snow storm today.

Number 1 -Shapiro says the county has more than 1,400 tons of salt available. He says because this winter has been so mild, only 66 tons have been used since the season began on November 1st.

Number 2- Shapiro says the county's Code Blue has been extended from Friday night through Monday, at 9 a.m.

Number 3- He says 13 trucks will be outfitted with GPS for the impending storm. Last year the county only had 11. He says seven trucks have plows, and six have plows and salt spreaders.

An additional nine trucks will be added to the fleet from local contractors.

The commissioners plan to update their storm plan tomorrow.

Number 4--Shapiro adds that he hopes all the kids have fun this weekend as the first winter storm arrives.
