Flyers Look To Continue Dominance Over Penguins Tonight

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Tonight the Flyers will be looking to bounce back from a bad loss as they visit their cross-town rivals, the Pittsburgh Penguins. This will be the first of four match-ups between these two teams this season.

On Tuesday night, the Flyers lost to a struggling Toronto team at the Center, 3-2. The Flyers looked to be in position to grab at least a point, but the Maple Leafs scored the game-winning goal with 7.5 seconds remaining in regulation. While the game was close, the Flyers were outplayed for the majority of the contest.

Even with the loss, however, the Flyers are still 5-1-1 in their last seven games and tonight they match-up with a Pittsburgh team they have thoroughly dominated for some time now. The Flyers have won eight straight games over the Pens, including all four match-ups between the two teams last season.

Philadelphia has 48 points this season (20-16-8) while the Penguins have 49 (21-17-7). Right now, New Jersey is holding down the final wildcard playoff spot in the East with 51 points.

The Flyers will be without Sean Couturier tonight. The forward has been ruled out with a lower body injury.

Steve Mason is expected to start in net for Philadelphia.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Dave Isaac of the Courier Post about tonight's match-up and the recent play of the Flyers.
