Social Media Personality Snapped Up By Major Brand For Series Of 6 Second Videos

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Pennsylvania native best known for his six second Vine videos is the latest example of the rapidly-expanding trend of social media stars turning in to commercial spokesmen.

With over 4.9 million followers on Vine, Nicolas Megalis is one of the Twitter-owned social network's most popular users. Restaurant chain Fridays has partnered with the Vine star for a series of six-second videos to promote their 474 contest.

"It seemed like a cool opportunity to not only make fun videos, which is what I do regularly, but also get to work with a company I actually love."

You'll see him promoting Fridays' new 4-7-4 menu, which features dishes for less with appetizers starting at $4, entrees starting at $7 and desserts starting at $4.

"I like to make art and believe that this campaign was a perfect opportunity for me to make creative stuff and not just ads.

It's not his first deal with a major brand, Megalis has also partnered with Budweiser, Snapple and Ford.

His advice to other potential social media stars:

"I think you have to get obsessed with something to really, really do well. That's my advice to people is to get obsessed and love what you do and do it everyday."
