Local Pups To Play In This Year's Puppy Bowl

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – While the football season may have ended in Philadelphia, a few local pups will be taking to the field in February.

Now in its twelfth year, Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl aims to raise awareness about animal adoption.  More than 40 animal shelters and rescue organizations from across the country are represented at this year's event.

Leah, a 15-week-old, 28 pound Rottweiler, will represent Philadelphia's Morris Animal Refuge.  Montgomery County's own Marley, a 14.5 week old Border Collie/Labrador will represent Salfid Rescue in Souderton. Leah and Marley will play for Team Ruff.

For New Jersey, 13-week-old Kevin, a 12 pound Schnauzer, from New Life Animal Rescue in Marlton, will play for Team Fluff.

Since the taping, Leah, Marley and Kevin have found their forever homes.
