Powerball: Three $1M Tickets Sold In PA, One $2M Ticket Purchased In NJ

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Local Powerball players may not have won the jackpot-winning prize, the largest in history, but they certainly didn't come away empty-handed.

The Pennsylvania Lottery is reporting 1.1 million winners took home more than $11 million dollars in prizes. That includes three $1 million winners. The three tickets matched five of the white balls drawn last night, and were sold by the following retailers:

• Landhope Farms, 101 E. Street Road, Kennett Square, Chester County;
• Turkey Hill, 5 W. Clay St., Lancaster, Lancaster County;
• Top Star Express, 216 Nazareth Pike, Bethlehem, Lehigh County.

"We are absolutely ecstatic. The last week here has been unbelievably busy. Our lottery sales have been about twenty times what they normally are," said Dennis McCartney with Landhope Farms.  He says even though he personally did not win the million dollars, the lottery hype helped the store win some new customers.

Six in Pennsylvania took home $100,000, 25 will bank $50,000, and another million players won smaller prizes.

In New Jersey, two ticketholders won the second prize, matching five white balls.

One of the ticketholders added the Powerplay multiplier making the ticket worth $2 million.

The $2 million winning ticket was purchased at Wawa on Springside Road in Burlington County.

The $1 million winning ticket was sold at 7-Eleven on Buckelew Avenue in Middlesex County.

Three players won $100,000, 43 will take home $50,000, and more than a million more in the Garden State will get smaller prizes.

The Delaware Lottery says three people won $50,000 prizes, and more than 91,000 others will receive smaller jackpots.

The Powerball jackpot now resets to $40,000,000 for the next drawing to be held Saturday, January 16.
