Devon Still Shares Emotional Announcement: Leah Still Beat Cancer

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The trial that Leah Still has gone through since her diagnosis of cancer has been one that we have all sat back and watched. Through the ups and downs of the process, we observed a young girl exhibit strength that inspired even the physically strongest of people in the world, NFL players.

Leah, the daughter of NFL player, Devon Still, received the bulk of her treatment for cancer at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Devon summed up the arduous process in an emotional post on his Instagram account on Tuesday. It was hard not to feel a father's pain as you read about everything Leah had to go through, but his joy was evident in the final line of the picture he posted.

All of the wins that Devon has racked up on the football field don't add up to this victory. Leah beat cancer.

Leah completed her final treatment on Monday night and Devon shared some advice with other families going through the struggle.

"No matter how hard it gets, no matter what the doctors tell you, always remain positive! Speak victory into existence," Devon wrote. "Give your child's fight with cancer a purpose. Use it to raise awareness so that you can help all kids fighting this disease. No matter how big or small your platform/following is, you will reach that one family that just needs to know they're not alone in the fight so they don't give up."

The Still family undeniably accomplished the feat of reaching others  through their struggle. #LeahStrong became something that galvanized our society into putting sports into the proper perspective. What athletes do on the field, ice or court is impressive, but what Leah accomplished is on another level entirely.
