Police Make Arrest In Connection To Two Carjackings At A Bensalem Wawa

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) – Police have made an arrest in connection with a carjacking at the gas pumps at Wawa on Route 1 in Bensalem.

Authorities say a male approached the female victim as she was seated in her vehicle after filling up her gas tank on Sunday night.

As she went to close her car door, the suspect allegedly grabbed her door and held it open. Police say the suspect then covered the victim's mouth with his hand and told her to keep quiet as he tried to force her out of her vehicle.

The victim fought back and sounded her car horn. This alerted several witnesses who intervened and chased the suspect through the Neshaminy Interplex.

Police say this incident is related to a carjacking that occurred at the same location on December 30, 2015. On that occasion, authorities say the suspect produced a knife and ordered the victim to drive him to several ATMs in Philadelphia, where he allegedly forced the victim to remove an undisclosed amount of money.
