At Sam's Rialto Bar and Grill in Pleasantville, you'll love their down home comfort food just as much as their patrons have since 1983.
And Sam's place has gotten so much attention they even were noticed by the Food Network.
"It's surreal. He may not have gotten the attention, but I think he'd be really proud of this," says owner Jake. Sam, who opened the place with his wife Brenda and passed away in 2008.
Sam is his father who passed away in 2008.
With Sam's son Jake handling the front of the house and Sam's wife Brenda keeping his soul alive in the kitchen, it feels as though some things never change.
"He was my mentor, I guess you could say," Brenda says.
Brenda is cooking up all your finger-licking favorites as taught to her by Sam with some of her own flare, like beautiful ribs lathered in spices, brown sugar, and hard apple cider.
Or try Sam's homemade chicken and waffles- with a few dashes of cinnamon sugar and a hot crispy crunchy chicken, served with mac and cheese, collard greens and cornbread, it's a place to call home.
