Philadelphia's 'Most Glamorous Event' Returns This Month
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Chasing the New Year's hangover: that's the idea behind Hair O' The Dog -- returning January 16th to the Crystal Tea Room in Center City.
PR organizer Jennifer Sherlock describes it as the most "glamorous event in Philadelphia:"
"Think glitz and high-class, sparkle. Just think of it like an adult prom. Everyone likes to get decked out, whether they are a woman or a guy, and have a great time."
The event was founded 22 years ago, and has since grown into a spectacle attended by thousands.
Hair O' The Dog typically has a theme, which is not the case this year, but Sherlock says different rooms will be transformed into different fantasies:
"The main ballroom is a jungle theme, so there'll be sexy dancers with costume, makeup, body paint all over them, and then there's going to be a Flashback Fantasy. It's a room basically filled with throwback jams for the VIP and bottle service people. Then there's another room called the Dog House, and that's electronic, EDM, hypnotic-type music."

Music acts range from Go Go Gadjet to Sabeel Chohan to a special live performance from South Philly's own Felicia Punzo, who will debuting her new single at the event.
Sherlock says music isn't the only thing you'll find at Hair O' The Dog:
"There's also a special champagne bar, there's gourmet hors d'oeuvres and some early entertainment."
The event starts at 9 p.m. and goes until 1:30 a.m., which is when the after party at Voyeur Nightclub kicks off. The VIP preview begins at 8 p.m.
"It's just a great night for adult partying," Sherlock adds, "and you'll see an age range from 21-60."
Proceeds this year help benefit Penn State's THON.
