Parents Allegedly Left Kids In Vehicle While Inside Casino For Over An Hour

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) – Two people are charged after they allegedly left three of their children unattended in a casino parking lot.

Authorities say around 9:10 p.m. on January 2, police responded to the Parx Casino parking lot for the report of children left unattended in a vehicle.

Parx security located the children, ages one, three and eight.

Police say further investigation revealed that the children were left inside the vehicle, which was not running, for one hour and 38 minutes while their parents were inside the casino.

The children were unharmed and released to other family members, authorities say.

Jarrett Nelson, 39, and Ebony Walker, 30, both of Newark, New Jersey were charged with endangering the welfare of children and recklessly endangering another person.

Police say both were arraigned and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail, 10 percent.

New Jersey's Department of Children and Families has been contacted to look into the matter.
