The Eagles' Good, Bad & Ugly: Eagles 35 Giants 30

East Rutherford, NJ (CBS) — There were some things to like, hardly anything to dislike and still not much to look forward to after the Eagles blew their season, despite in a 35-30 win over the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

The Good

Safety Walter Thurman's 83-yard touchdown interception return with 3:34 left in the third quarter gave the Eagles a 28-27 lead.

Running back DeMarco Murray's first-quarter, 54-yard touchdown run. The run was the longest for Murray this year and the second longest of his career.

Tight end Zach Ertz's 9 catches for 152 yards. His 60-yard reception in the first quarter was the longest catch of his career. The reception set up Darren Sproles' 6-yard TD run, which gave the Eagles a 14-3 lead in the first quarter.

Linebacker Marcus Smith, believe it or not, had a sack. He took down Eli Manning, which forced the Giants to kick a 30-yard field goal.

Eagles' first-half offense. They scored on three of their five possessions, with a punt and an interception, which came off a deflection. The Eagles' third scoring drive featured four third-down conversions and 44 yards gained on third down in the 16-play, 80-yard drive.

Wide receiver Jordan Matthews compensated for an early drop catching 7 of the next 8 passes thrown to him for 54 yards, including two touchdowns.

The Bad

Left tackle Jason Peters tripping penalty on the Eagles' second possession, which pushed them back to their 12.

Linebacker Najee Goode failed to set the edge on Rashad Jennings' 35-yard tightrope sideline run in the first quarter. The long run set up a field goal.

The Ugly

Wide receiver Riley Cooper's bobbled blunder with 1:51 left. He reached up for a slightly high thrown ball from Bradford and Cooper, possibly playing his last game as an Eagle, botched it.

Running back DeMarco Murray's fumble on the Eagles' 45 with 9:20 left in the third quarter. The turnover led to the Giants' first lead of the game.

Safety Walter Thurman's coverage on Eli Manning's 45-yard TD strike to Rueban Randle with 9:11 left in the third quarter, which gave the Giants their first lead of the game, 27-21.

Wide receiver Jordan Matthews' drop on the Eagles' second possession at the Eagles' 19 with 7:29 to play in the opening quarter.

Eagles' first-quarter rush defense gave up 104 yards on 12 carries, which averaged out to 8.6 yards a carry. Rashad Jennings alone rushed for 89 yards on 9 carries, averaging 9.8 yards a carry.
