Many Aim For Healthy New Year, But Won't Admit To Resolutions

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Now that the confetti has fallen, it's time to get to work on those resolutions. First stop: the grocery store.

New year, new me, right? Not quite. Many people wouldn't admit to KYW Newsradio to making resolutions this year:

"It's too typical, so we are actually canceling our gym memberships soon. That's how typical we are trying to not be."

"Because they always fail. It's supposed to be a life change."

Eating healthier was a life change for Bob Defrank of Maple Shade made many years ago. His waistline and cart full of produce prove it.

"During the week, I just eat fruit...cantaloupe, pineapple," he says. "I don't want to get fat. If I don't I will get fat!"

Belice and her boyfriend Shawn were stocking up on spinach, bananas, and beans, but she insists this is not part of a resolution.

"We do need to eat healthier and I was waiting until after the holidays, which just so happens to be at the beginning of the year."

Across the store, some were buying tickets to the $334-million Powerball jackpot, hoping to start the year by fattening the bank accounts.

Here's to health, wealth, and everything in between in 2016!
