PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Some families and friends in West Philadelphia spent New Year's Day morning indulging in brunch, and thinking up some creative New Year's resolutions.

For Tanya's 2016 resolution:

"To do something new this year."

But for Jewette, it's about family.

"To be happy and grateful."

For six-year-olds Olivia and Naia:

"To have fun!"

Emily is more serious.

"To get married to my fiancé."

And Rafia:

"To be more organized."

Nine-year-old Julian wants to put the pedal to the medal.

"Going on bike races this year."

While 16-year-old Kyle hopes, "To show my family how much I love them."
