Immigrant Affairs Director Among New Kenney Appointees
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Mayor-elect Kenney has appointed Miriam Enriquez as Director of Immigrant Affairs and Services. She says the city's welcoming posture to immigrants has created new needs, such as language access.
"Making sure that our immigrant communities feel comfortable accessing city services," Enriquez says, "and have access to people that speak their language and that they can communicate with."
Kenney has also announced his picks for the city's chief cultural officer, communications director and digital director, but continues a national search for fire, human services and prisons commissioners.
