Wolf To Reveal Next Move, Week After Getting GOP Budget Plan

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania's Democratic governor is about to announce his plans for a Republican-passed spending plan he could sign, reject or whittle down.

Gov. Tom Wolf's office declined to say what he will announce Tuesday morning from his paneled reception room in the Capitol.

He could decide to sign it and end a 6-month-old budget stalemate about two months before he'll have to lay out his plans for the coming year's budget.

The Republican bill doesn't include all of the new spending on education Wolf negotiated with GOP leaders, a deal they haven't been able to get out of the Legislature.

The governor also has line-item veto authority to cancel some spending categories and allow others.

Pennsylvania's been without a state budget since the current year began July 1.

Governor Wolf's budget address will stream live on CBSPhilly.com
