Fans Drown Their Sorrows In Syrup At A South Philly Diner
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- As the birds fell to Washington Saturday night 38 to 24 in South Philly, Washington clinched the NFC East and punched their ticket to the playoffs.
It was sad, frustrating, and painful for most die hard fans who focused their hopes on one man, Coach Chip Kelly.
"I think Kelly really screwed the team up, I think that he got rid of a lot of good players," one fan told KYW Newsradio.
Fans spent the season questioning Kelly's decision to dump star running back LeSean McCoy for linebacker Kiko Alonso, as well as other roster decisions that many believe undermined the effectiveness of quarterback Sam Bradford. Even with these perceived mistakes, most believe Coach Kelly is here to stay.
"We all lost a little faith in Chip Kelly, but hopefully he rebounds and builds the team and in the long run, we are better off," another fan said.
