The Day After Christmas Means Many Happy Returns To Retail Stores

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Retailers are hoping for big crowds Saturday to end the year in the black. But it's also a big day for returning gifts.

The National Retail Federation reports some stores are cutting prices by 30 to 75 percent. And many people were at the mall to get those deals. But others, like Gary Englestad, were in line returning.

Englestad was returning a soap container for a different model.

"It automatically dispenses soap when you put your hand near it, but it's missing the sponge holder that's supposed to come with it, so I'm going to see if I can get one that has that unit also with it," Englestad said.

Return policies vary but many stores will accept returns through at least January 15th. And if you received some gift cards that you don't like, Cardpool, will buy unwanted gift cards for up to 92-percent cash back.

At the Cherry Hill Mall, Lisa was with her daughters, Joy and Grace, with a package in hand.

"We have a Lego's Friends Dolphin Cruiser," Lisa said. "Well I had an AARP moment, and bought the same thing twice, so I have to and get something else for my daughter."
