What's Cooking on 1060: New Restaurant Opens Inside New Hotel

By Hadas Kuznits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  The former Four Seasons has opened as The Logan Hotel. The restaurant inside which now occupies the space of the former Fountain Restaurant is now open.

The Urban Farmer at 1850 Benjamin Franklin Parkway underwent a complete overhaul, and there's still some residual construction as they build a patio and valet parking station.

"We've opened the spaces up so you can see out onto the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, you can see into the kitchen from our dining room," says Urban Farmer Culinary Director Matt Christianson. "It's kind of urban chic. However it's kind of upscale and artistic."

And there are lots of unique multi-use design elements, like their colorful pickle jar wall.

"We'll pickle everything in the height of the season," Christianson says. "Some examples right now will be root vegetables."

Christianson describes the Urban Farmer as a contemporary steakhouse.

"We are sourcing from all over Bucks County, Lancaster County," he says, "local cheeses, Souderton beef, we have Grigstown chickens."

And there's an extensive menu.

"We have striped bass, we have scallops," Christianson says. "We have east coast oysters, west coast oysters, lobsters, all kinds of great shrimp."

Meanwhile, the Logan Hotel that houses The Urban Farmer is also open with it's own lobby bar.

"There's a fantastic cocktail program here in Commons," says Richard Brower, executive chef of the Logan Hotel. "One in particular will be the Logan Old Fashioned, and we're also doing some great beer cocktails."

And Brower says there will be more to come in the Spring.

"As the weather warms up, we'll be opening the Assembly Rooftop Bar," he says. "We'll have a beautiful view."
