Man Sentenced In Bucks County Teen's Illegal Drug Death

By Jim Melwert

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  A Philadelphia man will spend 12.5 to 25 years in state prison, after being sentenced in Bucks County Court, for selling the illegal drugs that caused a 19-year-old Bucks County man's death in 2014.

32-year-old Francisco Cintron was convicted earlier this year of selling the drug that killed 19-year-old Ryan Nocero of Buckingham Township.

"Mr. Cintron actually delivered what he believed was heroin which ultimately ended up being fentanyl," said Prosecutor Dan Sweeney.

Sweeney says he hopes the 12.5-year prison sentence sends a message that anyone selling drugs in Bucks County will be held accountable, and he says it's important residents understand the dangers of opiates and heroin.

"We literally receive notification of an overdose every single day. It's a rarity that a day goes by that someone does not overdose," Sweeney explained.
