Dozens Protest Nutter's Immigration Proposal

PHILADELPHIA (CBS/AP) -- Demonstrators voiced concern over the city of Philadelphia's immigration policy outside City Hall.

Dozens protested Mayor Michael Nutter's plan to roll back his 2014 executive order barring law enforcement cooperation between city police or prison officials and federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.

Philadelphia is one of 300 cities that protect immigrants charged with a crime from deportation by refusing to cooperate with federal immigration officials.

Police removed several immigration-rights activists who were protesting inside Philadelphia City Hall.

Mayor-elect Jim Kenney has said he'll reinstate the so-called sanctuary city policy when he takes office in January.
