Report: Phillies To Send Ken Giles To Astros For Four Players

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- According to a report, the Phillies have a deal in place to send closer Ken Giles to the Houston The Phillies will reportedly send Giles to Houston for three pitchers and an outfielder.

The report lists LHP Brett Oberholtzer and RHP Vincent Velasquez as the pitchers heading to Philadelphia alongside outfielder Derek Fisher, pending physicals. The fourth player in the deal, reported by the Houston Chroncle, is right-hander Thomas Eshelman.

Fisher is listed as the 8th best prospect in the Astros system. Oberholtzer, 26, started eight games for the Astros in 2015 and posted a 4.46 ERA in 38.1 innings pitched.

Velasquez, 23, appeared in 19 games a season ago and made seven starts for the Astros. He posted a 4.37 ERA in 55.2 innings pitched.

The teams have not yet confirmed the deal, which is pending physicals.
