PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A special report in the November AARP Magazine on 50 ways to stay healthy in your 70's, offers simple well researched ways to change your life at any age.

When you learn that half of all men and a third of women in their lifetimes will get one of the 100 plus forms of cancer, you'll want to cut out soft drinks, drink red wine and throw away plastic bottles that hold harmful bacteria.

Fight obesity by choosing protein -- eggs instead of bagels, exercising, eating with those who watch their pounds. Laughing out loud can cause your blood vessels to dilate helping the flow of blood and lowering blood pressure.

Outsmart diabetes by using cinnamon instead of sugar, limit sitting and watching TV, drinking more than 2 cups of coffee daily and eating a Mediterranean type diet  -- fruit, vegetables whole grains, fish and wine.
