Kane To Announce Plans For Next Chapter In Porn Email Saga
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania's attorney general is about to announce who'll lead a new effort to investigate pornography and other lewd emails exchanged among prosecutors, judges and others inside government.
A spokesman for Attorney General Kathleen Kane said she'll name a special prosecutor and lay out duties during a Tuesday news conference at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.
Kane's said a team will comb public email accounts on government computers.
She announced the plan last week, the same day a Senate committee voted 5 to 2 to recommend senators start a formal process that could result in removing her from office.
Kane, a first-term Democrat, is running the office with a suspended law license.
She faces criminal allegations she leaked secret grand jury material to a reporter and then lied about it.
