Few Problems, Worries For Travelers Returning Home After Holiday Weekend

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Sunday after Thanksgiving is traditionally one of the most heavily traveled days of the year. But for many at Philadelphia International Airport it was smooth sailing.

Suitcases circled the carousel at the baggage claim, where it was busy, but mostly business as usual.

Sally and her husband Nathaniel had nothing but good news to report from their journey.

"We came from Portland," Sally said. "we didn't run into any problems."

"It was pretty smooth," Said Nathaniel. "We were about 15 minutes delayed, but generally, it wasn't a big deal."

The Paris terror attacks were on the minds of many as they went through security checkpoints.

"It's something you think about, but I just wanted to get home and figured I'd be fine."

"You're always somewhat nervous when you travel, especially around the holidays, but I wasn't overly nervous about it. Everything was normal."

Pooja flew in from San Francisco and said it was a smooth ride. She didn't notice any extra security.

"It actually was not as bad as I thought it would be," she said. "At the same time, I feel like our airports are always really secure."

Scott's trip from Houston was also trouble-free. He wasn't concerned about any possible terrorist activity.

"I didn't think about it a whole lot," he said. "I'm in the military, so I know what's going on for the most part. Doesn't scare me at all."

Wild, winter-like weather made a mess in the Midwest, but that didn't really translate to any significant flight delays or cancellations in Philadelphia.
