Trying To Avoid Massive Crowds? Google Says The Best Time To Go Black Friday Shopping Is...

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Getting ready to hit the mall for some Black Friday deals? Google is offering some tips for shoppers before heading out the door.

Google says traffic in stores peaks between 2-4 p.m. on Black Friday, so the earlier the better to avoid the mayhem. However, that's not to say there won't still be decent sized crowds the rest of the day.

Also, Black Friday is not the biggest traffic day of the season for all stores, according to Google. It's mostly just consumer electronics and cell phone stores that see the most traffic that day, most other stores see peak crowds closer to Christmas.

So if it's not urgent, it may be best to hit up the electronics section another day.

Google says shopping malls see the most traffic the last Saturday before Christmas and many people actually head to dollar stores on Christmas Eve, perhaps for a last minute gift.
