The Eagles Get Basted In Detroit 45-14

DETROIT, MI (CBS) — The Eagles find themselves in the throes of a death spiral that has no end this season, it seems. For the second-straight week, Philadelphia gave up 45 points, five touchdown passes and were once again blown out, this time to the lowly Detroit Lions, 45-14.

Since leading Miami 16-3 three weeks, the Eagles have been outscored by three mediocre teams 107-34. What's more is that they look like a team that has tapped out on 2015.

Last week, they became the second team in NFL history to give up five TD passes and over 280 yards in a home game. On Thursday, this version of the Eagles because the first in team history to give up 45 points in consecutive games.

It gives the impression this is a team that has quit on Chip Kelly, and quit on themselves.

Against Detroit, the Eagles gave up 430 yards of total offense after giving up 521 yards of total offense to Tampa Bay.

"We didn't do anything well today, and it's very disappointing," Kelly said. "Again, we have to do a better job of getting to the quarterback. We didn't do a good job of putting guys in position to make plays. There's no other option (in terms of trust in the players). We have to go play. No one is going to feel sorry for us. We got out coached today and didn't do a very good job."

Now the focus will beam even brighter on Kelly and as the Eagles enter December, a fanbase that grows more apathetic.
