Travelers Aren't Letting Fear Affect Holiday Plans

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  Tomorrow will be one of the busiest travel days of the year as millions head out for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Many will travel by air and will find increased security along their journey.

A spokesperson for Philadelphia International Airport told Eyewitness News that for some people, today and tomorrow are the only days where they will come to the airport to travel.

And while the U.S. Airways merger with American Airlines could prove confusing, the focus is on the recent safety advisory from the State Department.

It does not warn against traveling but does ask travelers to, "exercise particular caution" during the holiday travel season and at holiday events.

Although no specific changes to security protocol have been disclosed, specially trained K-9's will be on patrol at the airport during the Thanksgiving travel weekend.

Airport officials are also advising travelers to arrive two hours before their scheduled flights.
